
On February 9, 2026, the Prime Minister’s National Apprenticeship Mela was organized at the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Srinagar Garhwal. The Mela was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Mr. Devendra Giri, Joint Director of the Directorate of Technical Education, Srinagar Garhwal, through the ceremonial lighting of a lamp. Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, the Principal of the institute, welcomed all the guests and candidates, and highlighted key points regarding apprenticeships as well as the Centers of Excellence (CoE) established by the department within the state. Approximately 335 trainees applied to participate in the Mela, submitting their applications both online via Google Forms and offline. During the event, 160 candidates were selected by various establishments. A total of 25 companies participated in the Mela, including Tata Motors Pantnagar, Mahindra & Mahindra, V-Guard, Minda, Rockman, and Satyam Auto.
