On October 23, 2026, the district-level sports competition for 2026–2027 was inaugurated at the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Srinagar Garhwal, by the institute’s Principal, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, who performed the ceremonial ribbon-cutting. Trainees from the ITI centers in Srinagar, Dugadda, and Sald Mahadev participated in the event. The Principal of the Srinagar institute noted that sports foster the development of discipline, self-confidence, team spirit, cooperation, and leadership qualities. He added that sports inspire us to remain humble in victory and to learn from defeat as we move forward. The event concluded with the presentation of medals and trophies to the winning and runner-up teams.
