On May 15, 2026, a workshop was organized at the Government Industrial Training Institute, Srinagar Garhwal, under the aegis of the Tehsil Legal Services Committee, to mark the International Day of Families. Presiding as the keynote speaker, Ms. Alka—Civil Judge (Junior Division) for Tehsil Srinagar—highlighted the significance of the family unit and urged the trainees to remain connected with their families and to share all of life’s challenges with their family members with ease. On this occasion, the institute’s Principal, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar—who presided over the event—shed light on the benefits of the joint family system and the disadvantages of the nuclear family. Mr. Pramod Joshi, President of the Srinagar Tehsil Bar Association, also shared his views during the program. In addition to the institute’s trainees, officers, and staff, the event was attended by PLVs (Para-Legal Volunteers) including Mrs. Poonam Hatwal, Mrs. Priyanka Rai, Mrs. Preeti Bisht, Mrs. Roshni Devi, Mr. Manav Bisht, and Mr. Prakash Negi, among others. The program was anchored by Mr. Shamim Ahmed.
